Last year, members of our team including Chris Newell, Adrian Howells, Mark Hendrick and Barrie Ross-Dow took part in the challenging London to Paris charity bike ride. This year, they have signed up once again to take part in a longer, more gruelling ride from Paris to Geneva in support of Bowel Cancer UK, our chosen charity for this year.

Bowel Cancer UK fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. Their aim is to stop people dying of bowel cancer.

Why Bowel Cancer UK

Our London based colleague, Greg Carrier was diagnosed with stage one bowel cancer in March 2021. Following surgery to remove the tumour in April 2021, Greg was given the diagnosis of accelerated stage 3 cancer which had spread further than originally thought. This subsequent diagnosis meant Greg had to undergo a gruelling series of chemotherapy, resulting in blood clots on his right lung (something for which Greg still has to take medication for). However, despite all this, we were delighted to welcome Greg back to work last October.

Greg and his family received vital support from Bowel Cancer UK following his diagnosis, and we at Quantuma collectively feel that it's our turn to give back to them, for the support and help they've given Greg, and more generally, the great work they do on a daily basis.
