Gareth is a Managing Director in our Restructuring & Insolvency team based in Leeds, specialising in contentious insolvency assignments.

Specialist expertise

Gareth specialises in contentious insolvency assignments and has an excellent technical knowledge of insolvency law and procedures, which he is able to combine with his commerciality to provide dynamic and tailored solutions to his client's situation.

Gareth has experience in many sectors throughout his career; however, he has gained significant knowledge in advising engineering, manufacturing, retail and construction businesses.

A recent assignment of Gareth's is the appointment as administrator to a textile printing business. The business was suffering from the impact of the pandemic. Gareth engaged with key stakeholders to enable the company sufficient time to conduct a mergers and acquisitions process, thereby protecting the value of the business and assets and seeking to maximise realisations. The process resulted in a successful sale of the company's business and assets with realisations of £1.2m and the preservation of 31 jobs.

Gareth has advised hundreds of businesses and individuals in financial distress and has extensive experience in advising small to medium size enterprises, also providing advice to creditors and other key stakeholders in the insolvency sector regarding the recovery of their debt and remedies available and safeguards to be taken.
