Becky is a senior manager in our Forensic Accounting and Investigations team, working in the South-East region.

Specialist expertise

Becky has experience in expert witness and advisory work and has assisted in the preparation of several joint statements of experts. Her expertise comprises valuations undertaken in respect of matrimonial or shareholder disputes and quantification of loss of profits, in respect of which she has been involved in a number of cases which have progressed to trial.

About Becky

Becky is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, qualifying in 2018. Before joining Quantuma, Becky spent three years working as a forensic accountant at Azets (formerly Roffe Swayne).

In her spare time, Becky enjoys gardening, arts and crafts and scuba diving.

In our latest article from the Disputes, Investigations and Valuations team, we look at undisclosed cash transactions and personal expenditure and their impact on valuation in the context of shareholder and matrimonial disputes.

We are often informed about undisclosed cash transactions or personal spending when undertaking business valuations. It is typical that one party disputes the quantum, existence or relevance of these transactions whilst the other considers that any valuation of the business based on financial statements will be understated as a result.

The devil’s in the detail – policy wording in business interruption claims
As you’d expect, we’ve seen a rise in insurance claims for business interruption losses over the past year with the majority of claims arising from the pandemic. Whilst most of the Court’s time at present is dealing with aggregation issues such as in the matters of Greggs v Zurich and Corbin & King v Axa, work can still proceed on loss quantification and, for entities without aggregation issues, settlement.
