HR and people management aspects in mergers and acquisitions: Online CPD course delivered by Tolley
In our sixth accredited CPD course of 2024 delivered by leading training provider Tolley, we will focus on the obligations of TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) and the redundancy process, should it be necessary, as a result of a merger or acquisition.
We will also look at the essential people management elements including managing communications, dealing with cultural change, introducing different management styles and, importantly, how to avoid and mitigate the loss of important talent.
We are delighted to welcome back Toni Trevett. Her session will be introduced by Adrian Howells, a managing director in our Corporate Finance team.
A deals specialist, Adrian has recently published an article on business sales and he will provide a brief update on the state of the market including the impact high interest rates and economic uncertainty are having on M&A activity, and why now might be a good time for your clients to think about the future of their business.
In summary, this three-hour session will focus on:
- The outlook for the M&A market
- Key reasons why some mergers and acquisitions fail
- TUPE and redundancy
- People management and how to avoid losing key staff
The webinar is suitable for all professional advisers and business managers who need to have an awareness of the impact of mergers and acquisitions on staff.
The event takes place virtually on Zoom. All our courses are free to attend and delegates qualify for three hours of structured CPD*.
*Please note, CPD not available if watching a recording of the webinar on demand.
