Derek is a senior manager in the Glasgow office and deals with both corporate and personal insolvency clients across a broad range of industry specialties.

Specialist expertise

Derek has been involved in the corporate recovery/insolvency profession for over 30 years and has undertaken many varied types of assignment during that time. He has travelled extensively throughout the country during his career and been involved in a number of trading situations, most notably a highly contentious Just & Equitable Provisional Liquidation appointment over an independent backpackers hostel on the Isle of Skye, to, more recently, the successful Administration, and exit via CVA, of a concrete manufacturing company in the central belt of Scotland.

In previous roles, including a period working for a Big Four firm, Derek has been involved in managing corporate and personal insolvency teams, pre-insolvency advice, both to potential corporate and personal insolvency clients, and spent 15 months in Aberdeen successfully establishing a new office, from a standing start in the city, for an existing business recovery firm. Derek considers himself to be both a diligent and enthusiast team member and takes pride in ensuring that he is always both empathetic and professional in his dealings with clients and work referrers alike.

About Derek

Away from the office Derek spends far too much time following the misfortunes of his local football team (Airdrieonians FC). He also enjoys travelling, dining out, listening to punk rock music and is a massive James Bond fan.
