Michael is a managing director in the London restructuring team. He has has over 25 years of experience in providing vital support to distressed businesses and acts for the management teams as well as stakeholders of a range of businesses typically operating in the mid-market. He provides specialist advice and technical expertise to help them overcome operational and financial challenges.

Michael has expertise across a wide range of industry sectors and has demonstrated a clear ability to act on high profile turnaround and restructuring cases, whilst also delivering the very best returns for creditors. He also has financial services sector expertise and has advised on a large number of transactions, including the special administration of Hartmann Capital Limited.

In addition, Michael has: managed the winding down of an investment broker/bank, returning £65 million worth of assets and cash to clients; issued a claim against a former director; and settled in mediation. In the hospitality and leisure sector, Michael has acted for a number of retail businesses. He has managed the trading and sale of a chain of franchise Burger King restaurants across England and Scotland. He has also managed the trading and sales of a number of high-profile London nightclubs.

Michael also has a number of specialist sectors, including professional sports clubs. He was a joint administrator for Portsmouth Football Club, the first English Premier League club to enter into administration. He also managed the trading and sale of a golf club in Essex.

About Michael

Michael holds the Joint Insolvency Examination Board accreditation and is a licensed appointment-taking insolvency practitioner. He is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and is an active member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. Prior to joining Quantuma, Michael was a partner in the restructuring department of a top 20 UK firm of chartered accountants, where he spent almost 16 years. He has also held a number of management positions in a top 10 firm of chartered accountants.

In his spare time, Michael is a keen sportsman, enjoying football, golf and cycling. He also likes to travel when time allows.
