Quantuma grows African presence with Mauritius office

Joint Venture with Thacoor Advisory

November 25th 2019

Business advisory firm Quantuma LLP has entered into a joint venture with Mauritius-based Thacoor Advisory to expand its presence in African markets.

Fulfilling one of Quantuma’s strategic ambitions to develop an international footprint in key international financial centres, the move will see the fast-growth firm provide a range of business advisory services to businesses in Mauritius and further afield.

Operating under the Quantuma brand, the company will run from Ebene in Mauritius. This adds to Quantuma’s geographical portfolio, which currently includes two offices in Cyprus and 15 UK locations.

The business will be headed by former managing partner at Grant Thornton Mauritius and regional head of Grant Thornton International, Yuvraj (Raj) Thacoor. Raj has previously led insolvency cases for a number of Mauritian businesses including The Delphis Bank, as well as several high-profile overseas assignments.

Raj will be supported by Quantuma restructuring partner Andrew Andronikou, who is based in London.

Carl Jackson, managing partner at Quantuma, said: “Developing our international footprint has been high on our strategic agenda for quite some time now. We have known Raj for a number of years and, having worked on several cross-border cases together, I have been extremely impressed by the high-quality of his work.

“We were keen to develop footprint in selected international financial centers and Mauritius is quickly becoming that for the continent of Africa; we are delighted to have found a meeting of minds with Yuvraj and his team.”

Yuvraj Thacoor, director of Thacoor Advisory, said: “We are delighted to be joining forces with Quantuma. It has an enviable reputation as a fast-growth company in the marketplace, with a strong track record of delivery on both domestic and international assignments.

“The international financial market is a real hotspot at the moment, so Quantuma’s wide range of business advisory services, namely its forensic accounting and corporate finance arms, will complement the requirements of our client base in Mauritius well.”

Founded in 2013, Quantuma has grown to become a £20m practice employing 180 staff.
