The Company Anthony Jones (U.K.) Limited has ceased to trade and has instructed Duncan Beat and Nicholas Simmonds of Quantuma Advisory Limited to assist with placing the Company into Creditors Voluntary Liquidation.

The Company has ceased trading.  All customers were sent an email prior to the Company ceasing to trade providing details of an alternative broker that is now dealing with their policy(ies). Please contact that broker for further information. If you have not received an email please check your junk inbox.

A Joint Liquidators’ function is generally to act in the interest of the Company’s creditors as a whole, and this must be done as quickly and efficiently as is reasonably practicable. The Joint Liquidators will contact all affected parties in due course with further information regarding the proposed Liquidation.

Anthony Jones (U.K.) Limited does not have enough money to be able to pay all its debts.  It is in the intention that the proposed Joint Liquidators are appointed over the Company to ensure that all people owed money are treated fairly and equally in accordance with the law.

If you are a customer and are owed money and have paid by credit or debit card, you may be eligible to claim a repayment from your card provider.  You will need to contact your card provider directly to start this process.

If the transaction was over £100, you should ask for your money back under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.  You should contact your card provider directly to find out if you are eligible for a refund.

If you are an insurer owed money by Anthony Jones (U.K.) Limited you will rank as an unsecured creditor of the Company, further details are included in the FAQ’s.

The Joint Liquidators will write to all insurers that are owed money by the Company, if you do not receive correspondence in due course and believe you should have or have any further queries please contact AnthonyJonesUK@quantuma.com.

Please see the FAQs below for further information.

Is my policy still active?

The Company has ceased trading.  All customers should have received an email providing details of an alternative broker that is now dealing with your policy.  Please contact them for further information and confirmation if your policy is still active.

I haven't received an email

Please check your junk folder, if nothing has been received please send an email with all of your personal details and reference numbers to AnthonyJonesUK@quantuma.com and we will look into this for you.

I am owed money as I paid for a policy that has now been cancelled

As the Company is insolvent and due to enter Creditors Voluntary Liquidation it is not possible to make any refunds.

Anybody owed money by Anthony Jones (UK) Limited is called a ‘creditor’ and you will rank as an ‘unsecured creditor’ in the Liquidation.  Creditor claims will be dealt with as set out in a legal order of priority but unfortunately based on current information there will not be sufficient funds to make any payments to unsecured creditors.  However, this is dependent on asset realisations and is subject to change.

If you paid by credit card and/or you are owed more than £100 please see ‘can I get my money back from my credit card’ below.

You may also be able to make a claim to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme – please see their website Financial Services Compensation Scheme | FSCS for further information.

What is a creditors voluntary liquidation and what happens now?

A Creditors Voluntary Liquidation is a legal process in which a Liquidator is appointed to take control of the Company and to manage its affairs. The Liquidator must be a licenced insolvency practitioner.

The Liquidation protects the Company from the people it owes money to being able to take legal action against it.

The Company does not have enough money to be able to continue trading and staff have now been made redundant.

On appointment, the Joint Liquidators will attempt to realise the Company’s assets.  Further detail in this regard will be provided in the s100 report that will be issued to creditors.

Can I get my money back from my credit card?

If you are a customer and have paid by credit or debit card and your policy has not been honoured by an alternative broker, you may be eligible to claim a repayment from your card provider.

If you paid with a credit card and you are owed more than £100, you should ask for your money back under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

You should contact your card provider directly to find out if you are eligible for a refund.

Where can I find out more about my rights to a refund?

How do I submit my claim in the liquidation?

The proposed Joint Liquidators will send correspondence directly to creditors, if you believe you are a creditor and owed money by the Company and have received correspondence from us there is no need for you to do anything further.

There is no need for you to submit a proof of debt form to the proposed Liquidation if your claim is £1,000 or less.  These “small” claims will automatically be treated as proved by the Joint Liquidators under rule 14.29 of The Insolvency (England and Wales) Rules 2016 in the event that there are sufficient funds to make payments to creditors.

However, please note based on current information there is unlikely to be a payment to creditors from the Liquidation.

If you are owed over £1,000 you can submit a proof of debt in the Liquidation, however as we do not currently believe there will be money to be paid to unsecured creditors, there is no need to submit one at this stage.  If the situation changes and we do require you to submit further information, we will contact you directly.  Please be advised we will not be reviewing or confirming receipt of claims at this time.

I am an insurer that works with the company

If you are an insurer owed money by Anthony Jones (U.K.) Limited you will rank as an unsecured creditor of the Company, as detailed above.

The Joint Liquidators will write to all insurers that are owed money by the Company, if you have not received correspondence in due course and believe you should have or have any further queries please contact AnthonyJonesUK@quantuma.com.

Can I expect to receive any amount back from the liquidation?

Unfortunately, based on current information it looks unlikely that there will be sufficient asset realisations to allow a distribution to unsecured creditors.  However, as detailed above the Liquidation is at a very early stage and further updates will be issued to creditors in line with the reporting requirements.

I haven't received any correspondence from the proposed joint liquidators, but I am owed money by the company

Please email your full name, address and proof of amount owed to AnthonyJonesUK@quantuma.com so you can be added to the creditors list and receive all of the relevant information and correspondence.

What is the status of the liquidation and when can I expect a more general update?

The Director of the Company has engaged Quantuma Advisory Limited to assist with placing the Company into Creditors Voluntary Liquidation.

It is in the current intention for a members meeting to be held on 11 August 2026 where the shareholders of the Company will pass resolutions to wind up the Company and to appoint Duncan Beat and Nick Simmonds as Joint Liquidators.  A virtual meeting of creditors will then be held, creditors can vote on ratifying the appointment and other various resolutions such as establishing a liquidation committee and Joint Liquidators fees.

If the resolutions are passed at these meetings, the Company will formally enter Liquidation on this date.

As detailed above, prior to these meetings all creditors (that the proposed Liquidators have been made aware of) will receive notice of these meetings.  Shortly before the meetings are due to take place all creditors will also receive a copy the Directors Statement of Affairs and a link to the creditor portal where an accompanying report will be uploaded.

The Joint Liquidators are further obliged to provide a detailed progress report to creditors of the Company every 12 months.  The first report will cover the 12 month period from the appointment date (11 August 2026) and will be issued no later than 2 months after the year anniversary.

These reports and other communication will be uploaded to Quantuma’s dedicated online portal, to which creditors will shortly be provided log-in details, in order to register for update notifications.

What information is included in the liquidators progress report?

The progress report will include the following information;
A general update on the status of the Liquidation, steps taken to date and further work that needs to be undertaken.

An update on the Joint Liquidators’ attempts to achieve a sale of the Company’s assets.

Progress made in respect of the Joint Liquidators’ investigation into the affairs of the Company in the lead up to the Liquidation.

An update on the current and estimated future costs of the Liquidation process.

When will the liquidation end?

The Liquidation has no set end date and is dependant on asset realisations and the Joint Liquidators investigations into the Directors conduct.  It is not unusual for Liquidators to remain ongoing for a number of years.

How can I contact the liquidators

We anticipate that there will be a high volume of queries from customers and therefore if we believe your query is dealt with by these FAQs then we will not be responding directly to emails.

If you submit a proof of debt form to the proposed Liquidator’s then we will not be able to confirm receipt.

If you have a query that is not answered by the FAQs then please contact us at AnthonyJonesUK@quantuma.com
