As Chairman of Quantuma I am responsible for overseeing the implementation of the five year p20:20 – which sets out our plans for controlled largely organic growth centred on our core business of insolvency, restructuring and related services. I am passionate about the firm and its values: Quality, Ambition, Respect and Collaboration:
Quality: ensuring that the firm’s services are consistently of the highest quality
Collaboration: applying One Firm principles, putting the firm first and collaborating with colleagues
Ambition: a clear ambition to be recognised as the outstanding firm of Insolvency Practitioners in the mid-market, which requires a focus on building the brand for the longer term
Respect: respect in all of the firm’s dealings through consistent engagement and communication with all partners and staff and through the firm’s interaction with its clients and work referrers.
I also oversee the firm’s governance and chair the partner remuneration committee as well as mentoring many of the partner team.
BA, FCA, FIPA
I specialise in operational and financial restructuring which involves advice to the full range of stakeholders, encompassing viability reviews, turnarounds and accelerated M&A processes.
I was Head of Advisory at Grant Thornton LLP prior to my retirement in 2014, having been with the firm for 36 years. I now combine my Chairmanship of Quantuma LLP with voluntary work, principally for The Hockey Museum and Woking Hockey Club where I captained the 7th XI to promotion winning 16 out of 17 matches, became a Level 1 umpire and act as the club’s webmaster Woking HC
In my spare time I enjoy wine tasting, video editing, attending numerous rock gigs and pootling along the Thames in my small boat, alongside family life with my wife, Rachel and our two grown up hockey playing sons.
